The defending champions are through to the playoffs where they look to defend their title.
General Service Unit (GSU) got their chance to prove that their abandoned match against Kenya Forest Service (KFS) was a case of a bad day in the office.
In a repeat match played at Nyayo Volleyball court on Saturday 2 July, the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's champions GSU, saw off the forest side 3-0 ( 25-22, 25-22, 25-14) to cement second place in the regular league.
"We came better prepared than we were on the previous match. Looking at how the team played then and how we performed today, there was a big difference.
Reception was the biggest challenge then. Our defense was also wanting and at some point, Service became a problem. A that was rectified coming into Saturday's match and the results show," offered skipper Simon Kipkorir who was away on a pro deal at the time of the first game.
It was a close match from the first whistle but GSU made sure to neutralise KFS's threat as they went on to win the first set 25-22.
The second set began with GSU firmly on the drivers seat, leading 8-3 and 10-4 but a series of unforced mistakes saw KFS cut the deficit to four at the second TTO at 16-12.
Back-to-back points for KFS reduced the gap to just a point at 16-15. Kipkorir pulled one back and KFS failed to receive the resulting service for the difference to ho back to three at 18-15.
A two point advantage proved tough for KFS to breach, trailing 21-19 and 22-20 before coming within a point at 22-21 and 23-22 as they went on to lose 25-22.
The third set started with a point for KFS but GSU replied immediately with a three-point scoring spree for 3-1. The was tied at three points and again at five before GSU pulling away to lead 8-5 at the first TTO.

The advantage was stretched to six at 15-9 but KFS made sure to hit the ten-point mark before GSU could get to the second TTO.
The paramilitary side led 18-10 before KFS could get their next point but despite a spirited fight from Gatuiria's charges Tarus made sure to pick an undisputed victory with a 25-15 third set.
"I am happy with how my players performed in this game as he was important that we give a good account of ourselves. This gives us the momentum going into Sunday’s match which is equally tough," offered GSU tactician Gideon Tarus
